Meet Samuel Jefferson

Jul 15, 2024

Samuel Jefferson

Position: Assembly Manager

Years with Rees: 5 Years

Fun Fact: I enjoy creating experimental electronic music using various synthesizers, keyboards, wind instruments, and field recordings of nature. Trying to use the sounds of our natural world and incorporate them into my music is challenging at times but also very rewarding for me.

Something I've always wanted to learn or try: In my pursuit musically, I would really like to learn a technique used with some wind instruments called "circular breathing". This would greatly enhance my ability to create more immersive and unbroken tracks which would blend better with my particular style.

Why did you join the Rees Team?
I was hired as a reference from a current Rees employee of 10+ years which I had the pleasure of meeting at my previous employer. I have always been interested in electronics and the manufacturing process surrounding them so that is why the Assembler position I was hired for appealed to me.

Describe your work experience prior to your employment at Rees.
I have some education in the engineering field, and I had a lot of customer service experience which helped me extensively with honing my social skills that have been critical in building a solid foundation here at Rees.

How has your role evolved since you joined Rees?
I have been rewarded with such great peers and supervisors in my time with Rees but my role in relation to them has changed drastically since I first started. I understand not only what it takes to manufacture and program our products, but also how the management of the overall operation can be quite a challenge to visualize without understanding all of the subsidiary processes that go into it.

Tell us about a favorite memory from working at Rees.
I really enjoyed the cookouts we held for the production team when the pandemic restrictions were in place. It brought a feeling of togetherness and joy to an otherwise very dismal time.

How do you envision the future of Rees in terms of growth, innovation and impact?
I would hope that the company takes advantage of its critical role, not only in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry, but also in the many areas of agriculture and even automotive where we could expand our reach and provide comprehensive product lines for many diverse industries around the world. If we have the right mindset and approach, there is little that the company cannot accomplish and garner success as a result.
