Juan Ortega - Employee Spotlight

Position: System Validation Specialist

Fun Fact: I love playing soccer and spending time flying RC planes.

Something I’ve always wanted to learn: I’ve always wanted to learn how to fly real planes. It’s something I’ve been interested in for a long time, especially since I already enjoy RC aviation.

Why did you join the Rees Team?
I joined Rees because I was looking for an opportunity to grow professionally and build a long-term career. I wanted to develop new technical skills and be part of a company where I could continue learning and taking on new challenges. Rees offered that path, along with the chance to work in an industry that’s both technical and meaningful.

Describe any work experience or training you had prior to your employment at Rees.
Before joining Rees, I worked as an electrician. That experience gave me a strong foundation in troubleshooting, attention to detail, and working with complex systems. It also taught me how to approach problems methodically and safely, which has translated well into my current role. A lot of what I do now still relies on understanding systems, diagnosing issues, and making sure everything is operating correctly.

How has your role evolved since you joined Rees?
Since joining Rees, I’ve learned a lot and gained more confidence in my work. Early on, I was focused on building my technical knowledge and understanding our processes. Over time, I’ve taken on more responsibility and feel more prepared to handle larger and more complex projects. I’ve also become more comfortable working directly with customers and managing different aspects of a job from start to finish.

What are some of the Rees products or services that have received positive feedback from the customers you interact with?
From my experience, customers consistently respond well to our service and professionalism. They appreciate that we take the time to understand their needs and work with them to find solutions while still following the proper processes. A lot of feedback comes down to reliability and communication. Customers want to know they can count on us, and I always try to make sure they feel supported throughout the entire process.

How do you envision the future of Rees in terms of growth, innovation and impact?
I see a lot of opportunity for growth, both for the company and for the people within it. Rees is continuing to expand its services and improve its technology, which puts us in a strong position moving forward. As the company grows, I think there will be more opportunities to take on new challenges, improve how we serve customers, and continue building on the reputation we already have in the industry.
